Astronomy Lecture Star Clusters presented by Ken Van Lew Monday, March 16, 9 a.m., SCB, $5 pp Open Seating Theater Style Ken Van Lew will give a lecture on how stars tend to be gregarious. Although there are a few free-floating stars that don’t even belong to a galaxy, most stars do orbit a galaxy center. Globular clusters are composed of older yellow stars that orbit above and below the halo of the Milky Way. Galactic clusters are stars that group together and orbit only in the plane of the Milky Way disk. |
