SOLD OUT - SAS Shoe Factory Tour – San Antonio Lunch at Paloma Blanca Monday, February 9, $49 pp Depart SCPL 9:30 a.m.; Return 6 p.m. When we think of San Antonio, we all remember the Alamo. This time, however, we will visit that city to see one of the few remaining factories in the US where men’s and women’s shoes and purses are made. When we arrive, a greeter will draw the name of one of our lucky travelers who will get a free pair of shoes of his/her choosing! The optional tour of the factory lasts about 45 minutes and covers a space of about two football fields. Then we will have time to browse the factory store where discounted shoes are displayed. You won’t want to limit yourself to shoes, though, because the General Store is packed with goodies from by-gone days. You may fill a bag or two of penny candy, have hot-buttered popcorn, and a coke or coffee, all at long-forgotten prices. Next we are off to Paloma Blanca, the delightful award-winning Mexican restaurant. We will have a private dining room where you can enjoy your choice of chicken enchiladas, beef fajitas, or vegetable chile relleno. (Choose when purchasing your ticket.) Soft drinks or iced tea and dessert are included. Note: Ticket sales limited to 40 passengers. Ticket cost includes transportation, tour, and lunch. Volunteer Trip Leader: Bobbi Heuss |
