SOLD OUT - Chinese Feast and Market Tour – Austin Lunch – First Chinese BBQ Tuesday, February 3, $61 pp Depart SCPL 10:30 a.m.; Return 3:30 p.m. Dorothy Huang, author of Chinese Cuisine Made Simple and Chinese cooking expert, taught a successful, sold-out class for Sun City in August. Now she is taking us to Austin for a Chinese feast and market tour. With Dorothy's guidance we have selected a ten course feast to share at First Chinese BBQ Restaurant. The delectable dishes include Crisp Spring Rolls with dipping sauces, Chinese BBQ Pork, Peking Duck, General Tso's Chicken, Shrimp and Snow Peas, Cod with black bean sauce, Stir-fried Beef with broccoli, Shredded Pork with garlic sauce, Seafood Hotpot and Shrimp Fried Rice. Dorothy will explain how each dish is prepared and the ingredients used.
Following lunch, we will walk one block to the MT Chinese Supermarket where Dorothy will take the mystery out of the market's products. Bring a shopping list and a cooler for perishable items you might want to purchase. Dress is casual with comfortable shoes for walking. This trip is sure to be fun, informative and delicious!
