Blake Hendon, Senior Wildlife Biologist

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department

Blake Hendon began his career with the TPWD - Wildlife Division in 2007 working as the District Biologist for Travis, Hays and Blanco Counties within the former Hill Country District. Earlier this year he became the Senior Wildlife Biologist for a new 16-county district including the I-35 corridor in Central Texas and adjacent areas of the Blackland Prairie and Post Oak Savannah ecoregions.

The Nature Club has a wide variety of Nature topics, Each With its Own Focus: Astronomy, Native Plants, Geology, Mammals, Reptiles, Birds & Butterflies. Our newest Special Interest Group (SIG) is Living With Wildlife. 

There is a monthly program and there are many other programs by the special interest groups, bird walks, plant walks, field trips, informational resources and access to experts when questions arise.

Because of the Covid-19 Pandemic and the closures of the Sun City Texas Facilities in 2020 - 2021 we were compelled to use the ZOOM application to reach the membership.

We started recording our "Virtual Meetings" in 2020 and continued into 2021, and make them available, via YouTube!  Look to the right of this message for the Box labeled "Nature Club Videos", Click on "Read More" to see our YouTube channel with the list of videos on a wide range of topics.
