Music stand & Strap
Get a MUSIC stand for the Jams:
- Any type will do. You just need to be able to have the music in front of you (we sit in a big circle to play).
- The stand will hold your music either printed out, or on your iPad.
- Here are some stands we use - (nice for iPads or paper) (smaller, folding).
- Additionally, here is info about the stands our Dulcimer friends are using. Its a Mom & Pop business in Marengo Ohio called Thistledew Acres. Cost is about $40 + $19 shipping. Email: [email protected] (419) 864-1736
- A Strap makes life easier when you're trying to learn to strum and switch chords. It's one less thing to balance. It's a personal choice, try it for a while without and add later if you want.
Strap is attached by a "button" which has a tiny screw into the body of your ukulele.
The other end can be tied at the neck or attached with another button.
If you buy it at Kenz' Guitars Downtown Georgetown, and they will put it on for about $10.
- It's easy to install it yourself if you have a small drill bit to start a tiny pilot hole, then screw it in. The metal "button" is screwed into the bottom of your uke, top ties around the headstock or can attach to a second button.
