Music stand & Strap

Get a MUSIC stand for the Jams:

  • Any type will do. You just need to be able to have the music in front of you (we sit in a big circle to play).
  • The stand will hold your music either printed out, or on your iPad.
  •  Here are some stands we use - (nice for iPads or paper) (smaller, folding).
  • Additionally, here is info about the stands our Dulcimer friends are using. Its a Mom & Pop business in Marengo Ohio called Thistledew Acres. Cost is about $40 + $19 shipping. Email: [email protected] (419) 864-1736
Do you need a STRAP on your uke?
  •  Strap makes life easier when you're trying to learn to strum and switch chords. It's one less thing to balance. It's a personal choice, try it for a while without and add later if you want.
  • Strap is attached by a "button" which has a tiny screw into the body of your ukulele.

  • The other end can be tied at the neck or attached with another button.

  • If you buy it at Kenz' Guitars Downtown Georgetown, and they will put it on for about $10.

  • It's easy to install it yourself if you have a small drill bit to start a tiny pilot hole, then screw it in. The metal "button" is screwed into the bottom of your uke, top ties around the headstock or can attach to a second button.
