Sun City Bocce Rules of Play

BOCCE CLUB

"Sun City" Rules:

    Set-up:

1. Each player/team racks (4) bocce balls of the same color, blue or white.

2. The Pallino is the red ball and is the first ball thrown. If it contacts the back wall (must go past the center court line), the other player/team then throws the Pallino. Note: the first player that threw the Pallino still plays their color ball first.

3. Each player/team takes turns rolling their color Bocce balls towards the Pallino. If it hits the back wall without contacting any other ball, it is considered out-of-play and removed from the court. (It does not need to go past center court).

    Scoring:

        -  A Bocce ball must be within 36" of the red Pallino to score.

        -  The ball closest to the Pallino scores one point. The next closest ball/balls (of the same color) also score one point. When the next closest ball is a different color, scoring ends. Only one-color scores. All four balls may score a point.

        -  If the bocce ball is touching the Pallino it is "kissing" and counts as 2 points.

        -  First player/team to 12 points wins (Note: change Court Ends when one team reaches 6 points).

        - Player/team that "scores" the points rolls the Pallino & then rolls their first Bocce Ball.
